If you are like me, you use Google Maps a lot when traveling. My most frequent use is when traveling on city buses in new destinations…the moving map feature of Maps shows exactly where the bus is so I can figure out when to get off.
Now Google is reported to be adding some nice features for train / metro / subway travelers. Google Maps will tell you which platform (track) your train will arrive on, and even notify you as the train approaches your stop.
Unrelated, in India Google Maps will tell you how to get to a clean toilet. I hope they will expand that necessary feature to the entire world.
This new feature was described in Point Me to the Plane blog.
