Italy Will Begin Limiting Number of Visitors to Cinque Terre

After 2.5 million tourists poured into the picturesque Cinque Terre set of five seaside villages last year, authorities have announced a cap of 1.5 million visitors this summer.

Roads leading to the villages will be fitted with gates that close after a certain number of visitors have passed. It is unclear if cruise ships and train passengers will similarly be limited.
